‘This Is Offal’ at Berliner Festspiele / Foreign Affairs

KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin / Berliner Festspiele / Foreign Affairs, presented in collaboration with KW Institute for Contemporary Art / 10pm / Tue 5 Jul / Wed 6 Jul / Thu 7 Jul / Fri 8 Jul / Sat 9 Jul/ Sun 10 Jul / Tue 12 Jul / Wed 13 Jul / Thu 14 Jul / Fri 15 Jul.

A pun-filled work of existentialist feminist horror, This Is Offal by Mary Reid Kelley and Patrick Kelley ghoulishly enacts Camus’ philosophy of the absurd as a counter to suicide. As the organs liver, heart and brain argue over what happened at night in the pathology room, they also deny any hope of a rational, unified explanation for the most tragic and motivationally complex of human actions. Mary Reid Kelley, born in Greenville, South Carolina, in 1979, often produces her videos in collaboration with her partner Patrick Kelley. This Is Offal is their first work for a live audience.
